Dennis Trillo stars in upcoming international series about first Filipino 'serial killer'
Dennis Trillo has been announced to star in an international series during this year's Cannes Film Festival.
The actor will play the titular role in Severino, a TV series that features the first documented serial killer in the Philippines.
Dennis will bring to life the true story of Filipino priest Severino Mallari.
According to CreaZion Studios, Severino is currently in development and set for international distribution.
"Our goal is to be part of the wide-scale production of elevated Asian projects. With Severino underway, one of the biggest series in the region, we are excited to continue diversifying and expanding our market potential by partnering with outward-looking producers and projects," chief creative officer Real Florido told Variety.
CreaZion Studios has produced award-winning films and television series, such as 1st ko si 3rd, Iska, and Patay Na Si Hesus.
The said studio partnered with Fire and Ice Productions, a newly established production and financing company, for the global strategy of the said projects.
This marks Dennis' next big project following his critically acclaimed performance in On the Job: The Missing 8, which was screened at the Venice International Film Festival.
Dennis' acting accolades include an Asian Television Award, FAMAS Awards, Golden Screen Awards, Golden Screen TV Awards, Luna Award, PMPC Star Awards, and a Best Supporting Actor trophy at the Metro Manila Film Festival.
