By Gaile Gregorio Published Nov 25, 2021 4:46 pm

Salcedo Auctions makes dreams a reality this festive season with a vibrant, multifaceted, and carefully curated roster of artworks to be auctioned off this month.

On Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021 at 2 p.m., the premier auction house will host "Under The Tree: The Wish List" live at Salcedo's NEX Tower saleroom and online at salcedoauctions.com.

Prominent Philippine art by National Artists BenCab, Victorio Edades, J. Elizalde Navarro, Arturo Luz, and Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, as well as notable works by renowned modernists Romulo Olazo, Juvenal Sansó, Romeo Tabuena, Lao Lianben, and Nena Saguil, will be auctioned off.

Exquisitely constructed antique wooden furniture and religious items are on sale, like in all major sales of Philippine treasures, including a pair of 19th century Ilocos 4-post comodas, an 18th century pair of molave altar / retablo columns, and an imposing retablo minór. The sole known photograph of Antonio Luna with the mestiza Nellie Boustead, the alleged object of his admiration, is sure to pique the interest of history buffs. The latter, who is also supposed to be the subject of Félix Resurrección Hidalgo's world-record-breaking 'La Pintura' (sold at Salcedo in 2019), was reported to be adored by National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal.
