‘Cobra Kai’ season 4 strikes back on Netflix on Dec. 31

The official trailer for Cobra Kai Season 4 sees a clash of karate fighting styles with brand new team-ups and familiar faces making a comeback when the latest season strikes back on Netflix on Dec. 31.

It's anyone's game in the Karate Kid spin-off series when Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) teams up with Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) while John Kreese (Martin Kove) enlists the aid of Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith).

More of Silver’s backstory with Kreese was revealed through a series of flashbacks in season 3 following his portrayal of the main antagonist in the Karate Kid Part III.

In the 1989 movie, Silver schemed with Kreese to turn Daniel to the dark side by inviting him to join the Cobra Kai dojo and seek revenge against Daniel's mentor and friend, Mr. Miyagi.

Based on the latest trailer, Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan) looks like he’ll be getting more time on the mat as a key member of the more evil iteration of Cobra Kai in season 4, after spending most of the previous season in juvenile detention.

Former foes Johnny of Eagle Fang and Daniel of Miyagi-Do join forces to teach a combined version of their karate styles, while Robby gives his teammates valuable insights into the principles of his previous dojo.

Both Robby and Tory (Peyton List), have a lot of resentment and issues to work through that will serve them well in battle, particularly against Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) and Samantha LaRusso (Mary Mouser).

Other returning characters to the ensemble cast include Hawk (Jacob Bertrand), Demetri (Gianni DeCenzo), Amanda LaRusso (Courtney Henggeler), Carmen Diaz (Vanessa Rubio), and Kyler (Joe Seo).

The fourth season of the hit Karate Kid spin-off series will culminate at the 51st Annual All-Valley Under-18 Karate Championship, whose organizers have, evidently, made some controversial changes to its format, based on the trailer.

All 10 episodes of Cobra Kai season 4 will drop on Dec. 31 on Netflix. Cobra Kai has already been renewed for Season 5.
