POP MART to open new pop-up store in the Philippines
Saddened by the news that POP MART's first pop-up store in the Philippines has closed its doors? Fret not as the toy company will continue its operations with a new location in Metro Manila!
The brand specializing in collectible designer toys in blind boxes shared the good news that they are set to open a new pop-up store in the country after receiving much success from their first one.
"We know you loved our first pop-up store, so we're officially launching in a new location!" POP MART PH said.
The new branch will open on Feb. 14 this year on the third floor of SM Makati Concourse area.
Just in time for Valentine's Day, the store also appeared to tease that the new CRYBABY Crying for Love Series will be available in the new location. The figures have 12 designs that "tell a love story through the language of tears."
POP MART garnered a massive global following last year and has enticed local celebrities such as Marian Rivera and Heart Evangelista.
The first-ever POP MART Pop-Up store in the Philippines was established at Level 2, North Entertainment Mall of SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City in November. It ran for a few months until it closed its doors on Jan. 27.
Jeremy Lee, POP MART Southeast Asia Go-To Market Director, previously told PhilSTAR L!fe that the opening of the pop-up in the country came as Southeast Asia is filled with lots of young people and folks in the creative industry.
"I think there's a huge affinity with creatives, being attuned to design or fashion and styles. That's why I think the Philippines is a great market to come into, especially [because] Pop Mart is all about art, entertainment, and culture," he said.
Lee further shared that they hope to partner with local artists to create Philippine-exclusive collectibles.
"I think this is a good chance for us to get in tune with the creative industry," he said. "There's a lot of talent and potential in Southeast Asia that the world has yet to see."
POP MART is a Chinese toy company that produces collectible designer toys like Labubu, MOLLY, Hirono, and CRYBABY, often packaged in "blind boxes." It has stores in Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and the U.K., among others.
