Aside from all the brand new series and films coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe this year, Marvel fans have even more to look forward to.
Disney has confirmed that the Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure will be opening sometime in 2021.
As reported by CBR.com, the all-new Marvel superhero-themed land was originally supposed to open in Disneyland California Adventure Park in June 2020, but was delayed indefintely due to the pandemic.
Despite the closure of the theme park, work has continued on the new Avengers-themed area and attractions, reportedly one of the largest additions to Disney California Adventure in the park’s history.
The Avengers Campus envisions itself as a training ground for a new generation of superheroes. The all-new land imagines a version of the Marvel multiverse in which Thanos snapping half of all life in the universe out of existence in Avengers: Infinity War never happened. Theme park visitors get to visit the campus as potential Avengers recruits.
Last August 2020, fans got a sneak peek of the park when Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, shared photo updates of the Quinjet that was recently installed during a tour with Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, Ken Potrock, Disneyland Resort President, and Walt Disney Imagineering.

The Avengers Campus is reportedly set to open in several phases. Some of the exciting upcoming attractions include Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure, an interactive screen park ride; The Sanctum, where visitors can explore ruins and learn the ancient site’s secrets from Doctor Strange; and The Pym Test Kitchen, an Ant-Man and the Wasp’s themed restaurant with size-defying fare using shrinking and growing technology and a "Pym Tasting Lab," a drinks bar set in an oversized beer can.

In the second phase, visitors will also be able to visit The Avenger’s Headquarters, where the gleaming Quinjet, the technologically advanced S.H.I.E.L.D. jet frequently used by the Avengers and STRIKE teams for transportation, is parked.
Marvel character meet-and-greets and rooftop shows will also be part of the attraction. Visitors may just brush elbows with Iron Man, Black Widow, Black Panther, Thor and Captain Marvel and more.
It looks like 2021 is shaping up to be a banner year for Marvel. Phase 4 of the MCU officially kicks off next week with WandaVision on Disney Plus, with the first episode dropping on Jan. 15. Wandavision will be the first in a series of new live-action MCU shows that will tie directly into the movies.
Speaking of movies, Black Widow, Eternals and Spider-Man 3 are all set to arrive this year as well after being pushed back from 2020 due to movie theater closures.
