'Pet Society' to return as mobile game this November
Missing taking care of a virtual fur baby after Pet Society shut down in 2018? That's about to change soon as the hit Facebook game is set to make a comeback this November as a mobile game.
Cats & Bites Studio announced that they will be bringing back the nostalgic game on Nov. 22 this year and will rebrand it as "Pet Society Island."
Like the original, players can have the chance to customize their pets with a wide selection of ears, eyes, lips, and more. You can also decorate your pet's room and fill it with all sorts of cool items.
But that's not all as the mobile game will also let you decorate your garden with animal-themed furniture and plants and have grow an array of trees, vegetables, and flowers. You can also catch and collect bugs that visit your place.
Aside from classic minigames such as jump rope, Pet Society Island will also allow you to compete with other players through racing.
Other exciting things you can try in the game include shopping for items, finding friends online, traveling through the skies, digging up treasures and materials for crafting, and going fishing.
Pet Society Island will be available to download on the App Store and Google Play this year and on Steam in Spring 2025.
Pet Society was first developed by Playfish as a social network game that could be played on Facebook. While it went on to rank as one of the most popular applications on the platform, with 50 million monthly players at its peak, the game's server was shut down in June 2013.
