Sorsogon sends away Kamikazee ahead of performance due to alleged attitude problems

The government of Sorsogon sent away OPM band Kamikazee ahead of a concert in Casiguran amid alleged attitude problems.

Kamikazee was supposedly part of the municipality's fiesta last weekend alongside acts like Imago and I Belong to the Zoo.

But Sorsogon Gov. Boboy Hamor went on stage to announce that Kamikazee would be sent to the airport, adding that the group could no longer come back to the province.

"Sana naintindihan niyo. Hindi ko gusto ito, kaso sabi ko nga, may attitude. 'Di kayo (Kamikazee) makakabalik sa Sorsogon, maniwala kayo sa akin," Hamor said, as captured by LGU Casiguran Sorsogon's Facebook Live video.

"Hindi tayo pwedeng bastusin na mga taga-Sorsogon," he added.

The Sorsogon Public Information Office said Hamor sent Kamikazee home after it refused a photoshoot at the province's 16,000 Blue Roses, an attraction made up of LED lights, for tourism purposes.

The band agreed ahead of its would-be performance but didn't show up on the day of the photoshoot, the office said.

Kamikazee was originally a five-man band, founded by Jay Contreras (vocals), Jomal Linao (lead guitar), Led Tuyay (guitar), Puto Aseste (bass), and Bords Buerdos (drums). They're eventually joined by Mikki Jill (keyboards and vocals) and Jian Lubiano (guitars).

The group is known for hits like Narda, Martyr Nyebera, Unang Tikim, Halik, and Huling Sayaw.

Kamikazee's management has yet to release a statement.
