A short conversation between comedian Vice Ganda and Karylle on the noontime variety show It's Showtime has gone viral for speaking up about children of corrupt politicians.

The topic was brought up during the show’s Sept. 17 airing of the Reina Ng Tahanan segment when a contestant was asked whether or not she would allow her children to date a proven corrupt official.

When the senior contenstant answered that she would not allow it because it did not reflect their family values, Karylle remarked that:  “Paano niya nga ba e-explain sa apo niya ‘yun? Nakakahiya.”

The two hosts then posed a series of questions about the situation.

“Alam mo, yun yung iniisip ko," Vice added. "Ano kaya nararamdaman nung mga anak nung mga corrupt officials?”

Karylle nodded along and asked: “Paano sila nabubuhay sa mundo?"

“Paano kaya nila yun dine-deny sa sarili nila?”

“Yun, at parang meron ka nang ibang finorm sa utak mo na katotohanan, di ba?”

Vice then wondered how it would feel if the corrupt politician would go on to have grandchildren: “Kunwari paano yun naging nanay ka na ‘tas yung tatay mo corrupt—paano pag tinanong sayo ng anak mo ‘Corrupt ba yung lolo ko?' Paano mo sasabihin sa anak mo na ‘Oo corrupt yung lolo mo’ o ‘Hindi corrupt lolo mo’?"

Karylle then asked Vice if he could see himself in that kind of situation, to which he replied: “Hindi ko alam pero hindi ako jo-jowa ng corrupt.”

“Umpisa pa lang, kung alam mo na, lalayo ka na,” Karylle affirmed.

The clip has since made the rounds on Twitter, with many praising the hosts for talking about political topics on the show.
