Vice Ganda: 'I’m a comedian, you are the clown'
Is this Vice Ganda’s response to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque?
In the Wednesday, Jan. 20 episode of the ABS-CBN noontime show “It’s Showtime,” the comedian asserted that he is a comedian and not a clown.
“Ako, di ako clown. I’m a comedian. At may kilala akong clown. I’m a comedian, you are the clown,” Vice said after a contestant during the show’s singing contest Tawag ng Tanghalan sang the song “Clown” by Emeli Sande.
This comes after an exchange of comments between the comedian and Roque following the Presidential Spokeperson’s statement that Filipinos cannot choose a specific brand of coronavirus vaccine that they want to be injected with.
“Sa sabong panlaba nga choosy tayo e sa bakuna pa kaya. Ano 'to basta may maisaksak lang?!” he tweeted last week.

Roque seemingly responded to Vice by saying during a press briefing on Monday, Jan. 18: “Alam niyo po, mali naman na ikukumpara 'yong bakuna sa sabon na panlaba. Eh kung hindi naman natin pagtitiwalaan ang mga experts na tatlong batches ng experts pa ang magsasabing puwede nating gamitin 'yan at magiging basehan para mag-issue ng EUA.”
“Eh ano ang pagkakatiwalaan? Siguro po hindi ang mga komedyante.”
In what seems like a response to Vice and Roque’s comments, actress Angel Locsin took to social media on Wednesday, January 20 to praise a “gay comedian” for righting for what is right.
“Ayos yung baklang komedyante, noh? Pinaglalaban ang tama at may malasakit sa tao,” she said in an Instagram Story post.
