Netflix reveals eight new cast members for 'Squid Game 2'
The players are complete.
Eight more actors have been cast in the second season of Netflix's hit Squid Game. Joining the season one cast are Kang Ae Shim, singer-actress Jo Yu Ri, Noh Jae Won, Lee David, Won Ji An, Sweet Home actors Park Gyu Young and Lee Jin Wook, and former BIGBANG member Choi Seung Hyun.
Earlier, Netflix confirmed that eight actors—Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Lim Siwan, Wi Ha Joon, Yang Dong Geun, Gong Yoo, Park Sung Hoon, and Kang Hanuel—will be in the second season as well.
With the newly announced members that complete the final cast, fans are already anticipating the series that is said to air in the latter part of 2023.
Hwang Dong-hyuk will return to direct and write, as well as executive produce alongside Kim Ji-yeon.
The first season of Squid Game premiered in October 2021 and has become one of the most popular series ever on Netflix.
It won six Emmy Awards in 2022, including an Outstanding Guest Actress and Outstanding Lead Actor in a drama series for Squid Game actors Lee You Mi and Lee Jung Jae, respectively.
