Miss watching movies on the big screen? A new drive-in cinema set at the Block 16 concert grounds of SM Mall of Asia in Pasay is set to launch next Wednesday, September 9.

The mall first offered the drive-in theater experience in SM Pampanga last July.

SM Cinemas Drive-in Movies by the Bay will be screened from Wednesdays to Sundays, with ticket bundles available at P400 per person. Each vehicle can only hold up to four people to ensure physical distancing. Moviegoers will still have to wear their face masks and stay inside the vehicle as they watch the movie. SM also recommends having only two people in the vehicle to enjoy the “best view.”

Films Train 2 Busan: Peninsula, the standalone sequel to the South Korean action horror flick Train to Busan, and Unhinged, a thriller starring Russel Crowe, are included in the initial lineup at the drive-in cinema.

Here’s the full schedule:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, 6:45 PM – Train 2 Busan: Peninsula
  • Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020, 6:45 PM – Unhinged
  • Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, 6:45 PM – Train 2 Busan: Peninsula
  • Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, 6:45 PM – Unhinged
  • Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, 6:45 PM – Train 2 Busan: Peninsula

According to SM Drive-in Cinema House Rules, all tickets must be purchased online in advance. Tickets will not be sold at the venue. Moviegoers are requested to bring their smart device used to purchase tickets to get the QR code scanned at the SM Drive-In Cinema entrance.

Only patrons from ages 21 to 59 years will be admitted in pursuant to the IATF Guidelines and Safety Protocols. The drive-in cinema will only grant entry to guests riding in enclosed vehicles with windows (sedans/cars, SUVs and vans) with a maximum of four persons per vehicle. No motorbikes will be allowed at the drive-in cinema.
