The air is getting colder, nights are longer and people are starting to sing Yuletide carols. Yes, it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas – especially for Geralt of Rivia a.k.a The Witcher who appears in a new one-minute promo video titled “Holiday Slay Ride,” courtesy of Netflix.

To reward legions of fans patiently waiting for The Witcher’s second season, the streaming giant has just released a light-hearted promo video decked full for the holidays. Alongside this clip is a comedic tweet from @witchernetflix: "Save your sleds for another day, for now is a time to simply slay. Tis the season of #Witchmas."

The promo features a collection of footage from the first season with a dash of holiday flair and musical score. The clever use of Christmas music goes surprisingly well with some action-packed sequences. Geralt’s sword fights are still astonishingly cool, overlaid against a backdrop of colorful lights, presents, Santa hats, and more.

Here’s a quick synopsis for The Witcher Season 2: "Convinced Yennefer's life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent's kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside."

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia a.k.a The Witcher, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Freya Allan as Ciri, and Joey Batey as Jaskier. Joining them for Season 2 are Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen, Yasen Atour as Coen, Agnes Bjorn as Vereena, Paul Bullion as Lambert, Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia, and Mecia Simson as Francesca.

Production work for The Witcher’s second season has just resumed after suffering a brief halt due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Eight new episodes are expected to arrive on Netflix sometime in 2021.
