LIST: TV shows and movies to watch this November 2024

November might not be the main gift-giving month, but the number of movies and TV shows hitting cinemas and streaming services makes us feel as if it’s already Christmas! 

Whether you fancy something romantic or you want to embrace a different fantasy world full of laughs, action and drama, rest assured that there’s something for you to enjoy. 

Here’s a good list of local and international TV shows and movies to watch alone, with family or friends this November 2024. 

Brewing Love 

Status: Starts streaming on Viu on Nov. 4 

Starring: Kim Se Jeong and Lee Jong Won 

New love brewing? Let us start the month with the romantic series Brewing Love. Former special forces member Chae Yong-joo (Kim Se-jeong) has been working for a spirits company as a salesperson for years. When her branch was on the verge of closure, she decides to use her special skills in order to sell a new beer. He then meets a new quiet brewer named Yoon Min-woo, who works in the countryside. New beer, new love? Let’s drink to that! 

Gangnam B-Side 

Status: Starts streaming on Disney+  on Nov. 6 
Starring: Ji Chang-wook, Jo Woo-jin, Bibi, Ha Yoon-kyung 

Our favorite K-drama action hero Ji Chang-wook leads the upcoming action crime series Gangnam B-Side. He plays the role of pimp Yoon Gil-ho, who does everything to save the sultry escort Jae-hee (Bibi). Eventually, it will be discovered that Jae-hee is not an ordinary woman—interesting details will be revealed as the show progresses.  

Gangnam B-Side also serves as the reunion project of Ji Chang-wook and Bibi, whose chemistry sizzled in The Worst of Evil. 

My Old Ass 

Status: Starts streaming on Prime Video on Nov. 7 

Starring: Aubrey Plaza and Maisy Stella 

Looking for a coming-of-age fantasy film worth watching? My Old Ass will make you think of those "what ifs." An 18-year-old teen Elliot meets her 39-year-old self on a mushroom birthday trip. As her 39-year-old version gives her some insights, she reflects on what she must do with her life while she’s still young. 

The Fiery Priest 2 

Status: Starts streaming on Disney+ on Nov. 8 

Starring: Kim Nam-gil, Lee Ha-nee, Kim Sun-kyung, Bibi 

Our favorite hot-tempered priest is back! The highly anticipated second season of The Fiery Priest is finally here!  

Kim Nam-gil reprises his role as Kim Hae-il, who despite practicing as a catholic priest, seeks out justice in his own way. Together with prosecutor Park Kyung-sun (Lee Ha-nee) and his trusted sidekick detective Gu Dae-young (Kim Sung-kyung), the trio will travel to Busan to solve a brand new case, where they meet and team up with a local detective named Gu Ja-young (Bibi). 

Mr. Plankton 

Status: Starts streaming on Netflix on Nov. 8 

Starring: Woo Do-hwan, Lee Yoo-mi, Oh Jung-se, Kim Hae-sook 

 

Road trip romcom, anyone? 

Hae Jo (Woo Do-hwan) is a carefree man who does whatever he wants until triggering news about his father pushes him to search for his biological father. 

On the other hand, his ex-girlfriend Jo Jae-mi (Lee Yoo-mi) aspires to have her own family. She is engaged to be married to a rich guy named Eo Heung (Oh Jung-se). By chance, Hae Jo and Jo Jae-mi cross paths. The former then decides to… kidnap her?!  

Hello, Love, Again 

Status: Showing on cinemas starting November 13 

Starring: Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo 

Ethan and Joy are back to make us believe in love and second chances once more with Hello, Love, Again. The love story of the two OFWs continues in Canada. Expect more kiligs, laughter, and tears! 

Marry You 

Status: Starts streaming on Netflix on Nov. 16 

Starring: Lee Yi-kyung and Jo Soo-min 

Romance-comedy set on a quaint island? Sign me up! 

Bong Cheol-hui (Lee Yi-kyung) is a bachelor who is no one’s ideal husband. He eventually meets Jung Ha-na (Jo Soo-min), who is an outsider who was hired by a group that helps single residents get married. The thing is, Jung Ha-na doesn’t believe in love due to a terrible heartbreak experience. Are they each other’s soulmates? 

Wicked 

Status: Showing in cinemas starting on Nov. 20 

Starring: Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum and more 

 
The movie version of the beloved musical theatre play is finally here! Wicked tells the story of Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West and her relationship with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. 

How To Spot a Red Flag 

Status: Starts streaming on Viu on Nov. 25 

Starring: Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano 

DonBelle is back! This time, the beloved tandem leads the cast of the new Viu Original series How To Spot a Red Flag. Set in the surfing capital La Union, Belle Mariano plays the role of a barista who crosses paths with a ‘charming good boy’ (Donny Pangilinan) who turns out to be a serial dater. Hmmm… interesting. The storyline will definitely appeal to Gen Z viewers and the young at heart! 

Moana 2 

Status: Showing in cinemas starting on Nov. 27 

Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Auli'i Cravalho, Nicole Scherzinger, Alan Tudyk, Rose Matafeo, Temuera Morrison and more 

Moana journeys to the far seas of Oceania after receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors. 

Saving Grace 

Status: Starts streaming on Prime Video on Nov. 28 

Starring: Julia Montes with Ms. Sharon Cuneta, Zia Grace, Jennica Garcia, Christian Bables, Sam Milby, Janice De Belen and more

Julia Montes is back! This time, Julia takes on an important role in the Philippine adaptation of the Japanese original series Saving Grace.  
 
This heart-wrenching drama is about an elementary student named Grace (Zia Grace), who is often physically abused by her own mother (Jennica Garcia). When a caring elementary teacher (Julia Montes) discovers what is really happening at home, she decides to kidnap Grace. The series aims to tackle the complexities of motherhood. With a stellar cast, this series will surely break our hearts. 

The Killing Kind

Status: Streaming on Lionsgate Play on November 29

Starring: Emma Appleton and Colin Morgan

The Killing Kind is a gripping British legal thriller series adapted from Jane Casey's novel. Ingrid, a defense lawyer, is scarred by a past affair with a dangerous stalker. She is later forced to confront her demons when he reappears, offering to help solve a friend's murder.

The Trunk 

Status: Starts streaming on Netflix on November 29 

Starring: Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun-jin 

We will end this list with the mystery drama The Trunk. Noh In-ji (Seo Hyun-jin) works as a wife for hire. After her fourth marriage, she prepares to marry a mysterious music producer named Han Jeong-won (Gong Yoo) with a one year contract. As the two get to know each other on a personal level,  a suspicious trunk from a lake is suddenly discovered.
