Barbie Forteza, Jak Roberto split after seven years
Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto have broken up.
The Kapuso actress revealed on Instagram that she and her longtime boyfriend of seven years have decided to split, asking fans for their understanding.
"'Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened,'" she quoted American children's author and cartoonist Dr. Seuss.
"Having you in my life was the happiest I had ever been. Seven wonderful years. A lot of laughs, a lot of ramen and so much love. Your love was exceptional," Barbie wrote.
"But sometimes, good things fall apart so better things can come together. Beautiful goodbye, @jakroberto," she continued.
Barbie expressed her gratitude to Jak for his love and expressed excitement for their future. She asked him to take care of himself and wished him the love he deserves.
The Pulang Araw actress also hopes for the public's understanding.
"I wish you can help us put this matter to rest," she ended.
Last May, Barbie and Jak marked their seventh anniversary by enjoying ramen at a Japanese eatery.
"Happy 7th anniversary, Mahal! @jakroberto I can’t believe it’s already been that long cause you still make me laugh the same way as when we went out on our first ramen date. You never fail to treat me the way you promised my family you would,” she wrote.
“Lastly, you love and care for my family more than you should. You have raised the bar, my love. I’m so grateful for you. Mahal na mahal kita,” she added.
During an interview with Boy Abunda for Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Barbie shared that they have already discussed about marriage.
"Kinikilig nga ako kapag nagse-send siya sa akin ng mga parang wedding videos sa Instagram kasi parang sabi ko, 'Okay so pumapasok sa isip niya.' Tapos sinisend nya sa akin," she shared.
Barbie added: "He wants to get involved in that area kasi 'di ba po ba ang mga boys ayaw nila nagpa-plan ng wedding di ba? So may ganun siya."
The former couple first met on the set of GMA's romcom TV series Meant to Be (2017). They got paired again in 2019 for Kara Mia, which started their love team JakBie.
