Lea Salonga revealed she has not been present in some Here Lies Love performances because she contracted COVID-19. She also said she is opting out of autograph signing "until further notice."

In a Facebook post on Monday, Aug. 7, the Broadway singer talked about testing positive for the virus, which prompted her decision to "isolate and stay away from work" for now.

"Thankfully, my overall symptoms were mild, quite a different experience from my first bout with the virus," she shared.

Salonga said she was hoping to return to the stage last weekend, "but COVID had other ideas."

"So, out of an abundance of caution for audiences, co-workers, and myself, I opted to take all the time to rest and heal," she wrote, adding that she intends to take part in the show again on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Salonga, however, will opt out of stage door autograph signing "until further notice."

"As wonderful as it is to connect to you all after the performance, I need to take care of myself," she explained, thanking everyone who has supported their musical. "Can’t wait to get back on the dance floor!"

Salonga portrays Aurora Aquino, the mother of assassinated opposition senator Ninoy Aquino in Here Lies Love, which narrates the former First Lady Imelda Marcos' rise and fall from power after the EDSA People Power Revolution by transforming the theater "into a dance club where the audience is immersed in the story." Directed by Tony and Golden Globe awards recipient Alex Timbers, the musical is set to run until January 2024.
