Janna Dominguez, Mickey Ablan share biggest regrets on Yzabel's death: 'Hindi ako nakinig sa kanya'
Actress Janna Dominguez and Mickey Ablan shared their biggest regrets following the sudden death of their daughter Yzabel, including the time when they weren’t by her side during her last moments.
The grieving parents opened up about their daughter Yzabel, who died due to heart failure and lung infection, in their interview with entertainment outlet PEP.ph.
“Wala kami nung time na...di man lang namin [siya] nakausap na, 'Anak, kaya mo yan, labanan mo yan,’” Janna lamented. "Yung mga ganun na words na gusto mong isabi sa kanya.”
"But she has to let go. Kasi, at the end of the day, iniisip niya pa rin yung parents niya. May ganun siya,” she added.
Janna added that since she could not physically be by her daughter’s side during the last moments, she just surrendered to God and apologized to her daughter through prayers.
"Nagpi-pray na lang ako na, 'Anak, I'm sorry. I love you,' ganyan, 'Sorry, wala si Mommy sa tabi mo, si Daddy,'" she recalled.
For his part, Mickey blames himself for Yzabel’s death, expressing his deepest regret that he didn’t pay more attention to his daughter.
"Ako ano, nag-Story ako na kung kaagad ko siyang nadala sa hospital, feeling ko naagapan sana to lahat,” he began.
"Ito lang. Ito lang ang biggest regret ko. Hindi ako nakinig sa kanya, kahit hindi niya verbally na sinasabi yung vibes na parang 'Dad, kailangan ko nang magpa-hospital,' marami akong mas inuna pang bagay na dapat piliin,’” he said.
"Kasi, kahit sabi nga na doktor, kung napaaga ang dala sa kanya, dapat buhay si Yzabel,” he shared. "Sana nung first attack niya nung Thursday, dinala ko na, walang ganito ngayon."
Yzabel was Mickey’s daughter in his previous relationship before Iwa Moto and Janna.
She passed away on Saturday, Oct. 7, the same day Janna’s son, Leon, was born. Janna announced Yzabel’s death on social media the next day.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Yzabel Ablan. She has touched so many lives and she has been an inspiration to many,” she wrote.
