Iwa Moto is mourning the death of her ex-partner Mickey Ablan's daughter, who died at 20 years old.

In an Instagram post, the Starstruck alum expressed her grief over the loss of Yzabel Ablan. “My heart is in so much pain. Still can’t believe that my Ate Chabelits is gone. Heaven is lucky to have such a wonderful person,” she wrote.

Iwa said that she loved Yzabel dearly even though she wasn’t her biological mom. “I was her stepmom for a couple of years, pero I know in my heart na mahal na mahal ko siya kahit ‘di ako ang nagluwal sa kanya sa mundong ‘to.”

The local star recalled experiencing a lot of “firsts” with Yza, including being a mom as well as learning to be patient and forgiving in order to be “fully happy.”

Iwa went on to thank Yza for keeping a close relationship with her even after her split with Mickey. “Thank you kasi, anak, kahit ang tagal na nating ‘di nagkikita, you never fail to greet me, or just to say hi.”

The actress said she’s going to miss her random stories and conversations with her stepchild—from her OOTDs to her rants.

“I wish I could have [spent] more time with you. I’m sorry if I [failed] you, anak. Sorry sa mga pagkakamali ko. Tandaan mo, anak, na sobrang mahal ka ni mommy. See you in my dreams, anak,” she concluded.

Mickey’s current partner Janna Dominguez announced the death of Yza on social media on Sunday, Oct. 8. “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Yzabel Ablan. She has touched so many lives and she has been an inspiration to many,” she said.

Yza’s wake will take place until Oct. 12 in Angeles, Pampanga.

"We invite those who wish to pay their respects and celebrate her life to visit. Knowing Yza, it will mean a lot to her," Janna added.
