BTS’ Namjoon, also known as the group’s RM (Rap Monster), shared that he and the rest of the members got matching tattoos before Jin's military send-off.

In his interview with KBS News 9 on Dec. 18, RM shared the group's state now that they are embarking a significant chapter in their life: military enlistment.

Talking about Jin's mandatory military service, RM said the eldest member assured that he will "be back safely."

“Jin didn’t talk much. I think he had a lot on his mind, and when we went to the [training grounds], he said like the eldest member he is, ‘I’ll be back safely. I’ll let you know how it is after experiencing it first,'” shared RM.

“It was a moment that had to come, and since it was a moment we waited for, it really felt like we were experiencing the turning of a page in [the life of] BTS,” he said.

Although he had mixed feelings about the changes, he says that he chooses to be calm and trusts that Jin is doing well in the training center.

As part of their send-off to Jin, he shared that the boys got matching "7" tattoos, signifying them as a whole.

Since the rest of the BTS members are set to join the military in coming years one after another, the group is set to come back as a whole in 2025. RM shared that although there is nothing they can do about it, he holds on to the ARMY’s trust and support for them all throughout the journey.

“Since the military service period is 18 months, there is nothing we can physically do about it. However, there are numerous ARMY in Korea and all over the world who believe in our team.”

RM released his first solo album Indigo last Dec. 2. It garnered huge success landing in No. 15 spot on Billboard 200 during its release.

Speaking to KBS News 9, he shared how different the process is in creating his solo album Indigo compared to the process when they are preparing an album as a group. “I’m relatively more relaxed.”

He added, “When working with BTS, my part is one-seventh, but the depth and density have become greater since I have to work alone.”
