BLINKS are in for another treat this August!
On August 15, MTV announced its performers in this year’s Video Music Awards (VMAs), with BLACKPINK set to make its debut U.S. awards show debut at the event.
The 38th VMAs will be held at 8 p.m., Eastern Time, on August 28 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The quartet, composed of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, will carry off a banging live performance of their pre-release single "Pink Venom," which is set to be released on Aug. 19.
The group will fire up the show alongside American rappers Lizzo and Jack Harlow, as well as Italian rock band Måneskin.
BLACKPINK is also nominated for the VMAs’ newest category—Best Metaverse Performance—for their in-game concert in PlayerUnknokwn's Battlegrounds Mobile (PUBG), titled "BLACKPINK: The Virtual." It was in the same online event that the group debuted their music video for their latest track, "Ready For Love."
Meanwhile, member Lisa received a separate nomination for Best K-pop with "Lalisa."
