Paul Cattermole, member of '90s pop group S Club 7, died in his home in Dorset, England on April 7. He was 46.

His demise comes two months after the English band announced that they are reuniting for their 25th anniversary tour across UK and Ireland in October of this year.

The group and Cattermole's family confirmed the news of Cattermole's passing in a statement sent to BBC which says, "It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole."

"Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon."

"While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances. Paul's family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time," the statement read.

S Club 7 took to Twitter to express their grief and, at the same time, their gratitude for getting to spend time with Cattermole in his lifetime.

"We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have," the group tweeted.

"He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time," they added.

The group's manager, Simon Fuller, likewise paid tribute to Cattermole in a statement sent to UK-based news agency PA Media. "Paul was a beacon of light for a generation of pop music fans and he will be greatly missed. We're all deeply shocked and saddened by this news," wrote Fuller.

S Club 7 was formed by Fuller in 1998 and debuted through the BBC TV show Miami 7 where they played fictionized versions of themselves. The group quickly rose to fame worldwide with their hits Bring It All Back, S Club 7, Never Had a Dream Come True, and Reach, among others.   They have become one of the biggest acts of the era having sold more than 10 million albums globally.
