Herlene Budol reveals why she looked unhappy during Miss PH Tourism 2023 crowning moment

Herlene Budol has revealed the reason behind her unhappy expression when she was announced as Miss Philippines Tourism at the inaugural Miss Grand pageant in the country. 

On Saturday, July 15, the beauty queen responded to a post about her on a pageant group and opened up about why she looked sad during her crowning moment at the tilt.

“Bakit malungkot ang beshie ko?” the Facebook post read, showing a snap of Budol with a straight face during the competition. 

“Kase sinayang ni angkol,” she captioned her post, vowing to do better at the international competition. “Kaya sa [Miss Tourism] tayo [ta-tumbling] ng bongga.” 

Budol was crowned Miss Tourism Philippines at the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 on Thursday, July 13. She also won Best in Runway and other special awards like Miss Bluewater Day Spa, Miss Ever Bilena, Miss Arena Plus, and Miss Mermaid Manila Hair. 

Nikki De Moura of Cagayan de Oro City won the highly coveted title during the coronation night. Michelle Arceo of Bagumbayan, Quezon City was named Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas while Francine Reyes of Tarlac was announced as Miss Eco Teen Philippines. Shannon Tampon of Caloocan City and Charie Sergio of Caluya, Antique won first and second runner-up, respectively.
