Charlie Puth confirms BTS collaboration is in the works
Ready your purple hearts for another meeting of legends, ARMY. Charlie Puth has recently confirmed that he is collaborating with BTS for an upcoming project.
The American singer-songwriter famous for hits like We Don't Talk Anymore, See You Again, and One Call Away broke the news in an interview with KIIS-FM during its Wango Tango concert on June 5 (local time).
Puth first revealed that his new self-titled album is coming out in September. When asked if he has an upcoming collaboration with the K-pop kings, he said that there is, but the release date is yet to be confirmed.
“I heard that too, and everybody in my camp doesn’t know the day it comes out. We legitimately have no idea of the day it comes out. We do, but like we just figured it out,” the record producer said.
"So there is a collab?" the interviewer asked again. "There is," Puth replied.

Puth's camp and BTS' talent agency, Big Hit Music, haven't released official statements yet, but it can be recalled that the group's main vocalist, Jungkook, has since been expressing his desire to work with Puth in the past years.
In February 2017, JungKook posted his cover of Puth's We Don't Talk Anymore. The American singer later tweeted it with the caption, "Love this Jungcook," misspelling the K-pop idol's name. Jungkook and bandmate Jimin also did a duet of the song and posted it later.
On Nov. 6, 2018, Jungkook and Puth performed the song together on the stage of the MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards, where they were later joined by RM, Jin, Suga, Jimin, and V to perform Fake Love.
This isn't the only time the phenomenal Korean boy group is working with a Western artist this year. Last March, American rapper-songwriter Snoop Dog confirmed he is teaming up with the septet to "make good music."
“The BTS experience you keep talking about. I’m going to let them tell you about it. It’s official like a referee with a whistle," Snoop Dog said during the American Song Contest red carpet.
"I love that entertainment world. It's good music. It's [a] vibe," he continued. "I make good music. They make good music. And we end up doing this. This is what it's always about, bringing our worlds together."
