Lovi Poe launches her own production company called C'est Lovi
Lovi Poe continues to expand her horizons and followed in her late father's footsteps as she launched her own production company, C'est Lovi Productions.
The singer and actress shared the news on Instagram, adding that she has wanted to work behind the camera aside from in front of it.
"It's been a passion of mine to be in the business of making films in front of the camera for a number of years already, and as I continue to do that I'd like to be behind the camera too and develop projects from the beginning," Poe wrote.
"I want to join forces with people who share the same passion and make films that would help the world recognize Filipino talent either behind or in front of the camera."
C'est Lovi Productions already has films in the pipeline featuring Filipino and international stories. This includes Lady Luck, which Poe will star in, written by Geordie Kieffer and Mitch Toler and directed by Niall Johnson.
Jerrold Tarog (Heneral Luna, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral) is also set to work with the company on a psychological thriller titled Alyssa.
Additionally, British-born film producer Montgomery Blencowe, the actress' boyfriend, will serve as an executive in the company.
With C'est Lovi Productions, Poe hopes to continue her father Fernando Poe Jr.'s legacy. The late actor established FPJ Productions in 1961.
"There was FPJ Productions... And I hope C'est Lovi Productions can continue that legacy and bring Filipino stories—especially those independent, lesser known but equally good ones—internationally," she said.
Poe recently starred in the Filipino adaptation of Korean drama Flower of Evil as well as queer romance series Sleep With Me.
