Melanie Marquez's husband Adam Lawyer denies abuse allegations
Melanie Marquez's husband Randy "Adam" Lawyer has denied the allegations of abuse the former beauty queen made against him.
In a statement to Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Lawyer's legal counsel Atty. Jecko G. Bello called Marquez's accusations "baseless" and an "act of defamation."
"Our client, Mr. Adam Lawyer, categorically denies with strongest terms the allegations thrown against him. Ms. Melanie has always been engaged in ostentatiously accusing Mr. Lawyer of abuse, but all of which were found to be baseless or unfounded by the proper forum," Bello stated.
"This is nothing but an act of harassment suffered by our client; an act of defamation on the part of Ms. Melanie."
Lawyer's camp also said that Marquez's claims have been previously investigated and "dismissed as baseless and unfounded" by authorities.
The case Marquez mentioned in the interview was supposedly junked by the Office of the City Prosecutor of Makati via NPS No. XV-05-INV-22K-3036. It also allegedly did not reach the court of law.
"This latest stunt is nothing short of malicious harassment, designed to inflict severe reputational damage, emotional distress, and professional harm on our client," a separate statement from Lawyer's legal counsel, signed by Bello, Mitzell Arthur Magdaong, and Isabel Perfetua Doctolero, read.
"Mr. Lawyer will address the particularities of [Ms.] Marquez's accusations against him before the Bureau of Immigration, the proper forum."
In her Fast Talk interview on Jan. 5, Marquez said she wrote to the BI requesting to cancel her estranged husband's visa and to have him blacklisted.
This comes after she revealed he allegedly physically abused her in March 2022 and in October 2025, which reportedly led to a busted eardrum and fractured rib, respectively. The last incident supposedly led the Miss International 1979 titleholder to file a protection order against Lawyer,
Marquez also shared her plans to file for a divorce from Lawyer.
Marquez and Lawyer married in 2000 and share two children, Adam and Abraham. She also has four other children from past relationships.
