Kris Aquino's friend says her meds are working now, her food cravings have returned
Kris Aquino’s medications for her autoimmune diseases have started working after years, according to her close friend. Her food cravings have also returned.
According to Balares, Aquino said the fresh air from Newport Coast in California, where she's undergoing treatment, helped.
She also acknowledged the prayers from her supporters.
“Can you please thank everyone praying for me? Please thank everyone praying BUT they have more to pray for," Balares quoted Aquino as saying.
“Prayer works. When we pray, God works,” he added.
In another post on May 15, Balares shared a photo of him, his wife, and Aquino as he said that Aquino’s food cravings have returned.
“Sabi ng grandfathers ko (na parehong medicine man), 'pag naghanap ng masarap na pagkain ang may karamdaman, pabalik na sa mabuting kalusugan ang katawan,” he said, adding that food is the number one medicine.
He also noted that Aquino misses his version of laing and lechon kawali.
“Gagawan ng paraan ni Wifey na mapadalhan siya,” he said.
This comes less than a month after Aquino made the rounds online when social media users noticed she looks better and livelier amid her illnesses during the birthday celebration of her son Bimby, who turned 17 on April 19.
Last February, Aquino revealed that because she has Churg Strauss, she now has cardiomyopathy, a condition that causes her heart muscles to have trouble pumping blood due to inflammation.
She’s battling five life-threatening autoimmune diseases and has been undergoing treatment at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles since June 2022.
