Ne-Yo shared rare photos of him with his seven children on Instagram, saying that welcoming them is the “best thing” he’s ever done in his life.
The So Sick singer (real name: Shaffer Chimere Smith) posted a series of family photos on Instagram on Saturday, July 8. “I’m a father before I’m anything else. Not money, not fame, not even the love of the craft. I do this for them. They are my reason,” he wrote.
“I’m nowhere near perfect and that’s okay. My kids love me,” he added. “I’d die, kill, steal, whatever to make sure they never need anything. The best thing I’ve ever done.”
“I love my tribe! I love my squad! And I will for all of this life and the next, and the next!” he continued.
According to entertainment portal Page Six, Ne-Yo shares three kids (Shaffer, Roman, and Isabella) with his ex-partner Crystal Renay, two (Madilyn and Mason Grace) with his ex-fiance Monyette Shaw, and another two (Braiden and Brixton) with his ex-girlfriend Sade Jenea.
PEOPLE Magazine reported that Renay filed for divorce in August 2022 after accusing Ne-Yo of cheating in their relationship. Divorce documents showed her claiming that he “fathered a child with another woman during their marriage.” They finalized their divorce early this year.
