Buboy Villar denies physical abuse, cheating allegations by ex-partner
Trigger warning: This article contains mentions of physical abuse.
Buboy Villar has denied allegations by his ex-partner Angillyn Gorens, who claimed he was physically abusive and unfaithful towards her. He also addressed accusations that he did not provide enough financial support to their two children.
In an interview with 24 Oras, Villar asserted that he never raised a hand on his former partner as he knows what it's like to experience abuse.
Malabo po," the actor and comedian stressed.
On providing financial support to their children, he said that he and Gorens went through legal processes.
"Napag-usapan na po kasi namin 'yun dati pa sa VAWC (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children).
"[Siguro last year 'yun,] nakipag-meeting ako with mommy niya at atsaka nung daddy niya. Nandun kami, nakapag-usap kami. Kaya 'yung mga ganitong pangyayari, nakaalungkot," Villar said.
He stressed that he will continue to show respect towards Gorens despite her accusations.
Kailangan kong yakapin 'yung sakit at bitawan later on," he added.
The local star is also open to forgiving Gorens.
In a now-deleted lengthy Facebook post on March 26, Gorens alleged that Villar has not been providing child support for almost two years, though noted that it's not a problem.
She also claimed that the actor hurt her during arguments when they were still together. She didn't go into detail but mentioned in passing that he allegedly choked her.
Gorens and Villar met in 2015 and entered a relationship the following year, when they also started living together and got engaged.
The allegations come after Villar formally introduced his non-showbiz girlfriend, Khrizza Mae Sampiano, on his podcast Your Honor, which he co-hosts with Tuesday Vargas. He also revealed that they now have a three-month-old baby boy named Kyruz.
