Dawn Chang says yes to NAPOLCOM commissioner Ralph Calinisan’s surprise proposal on game show
Talk about hitting the jackpot!
Dawn Chang got more than a game show moment when her partner, National Police Commission Commissioner Ralph Calinisan, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him during Kapamilya Deal or No Deal on Saturday.
In the episode, Chang said she felt nervous about the question, "Deal or no deal?"
Host Luis Manzano then hinted that she was in for an even bigger question, though it would come from someone else. He then surprised the actress by calling Calinisan onto the stage before stepping back.
"My love, gusto ko lang magpasalamat sa'yo kasi natyatyaga mo ako at natyatyaga mo ang trabaho ko," he began. "Totoo lang, lagi kong iniinda na we've been doing wedding preparations pero I've never gotten the chance to ask you. So pasensya na, but may gusto sana ako itanong sa'yo eh."
The crowd then cheered as Calinisan knelt on one knee. Chang, on the other hand, couldn't help but get emotional as her partner asked, "Will you marry me, Dawn?"

After slipping the ring on, the two shared a warm embrace.
"I feel so inadequate. I've been doing my work, parang trabaho na lang ako nang trabaho, tapos 'yung mismong personal kong buhay, proposal ko, hindi ko magawa," Calinisan shared.
Chang, on the other hand, confessed that she had been getting impatient over the proposal.
"Hindi kasi siya ma-share ng personal life. He's a very private person. Kaya sobrang nagugulat talaga ako ngayon that he's here and that he's talking to the public. Thank you so much. Thank you for finally asking," she said.
The couple has been together for nearly five years, with Chang first publicly sharing their relationship on Instagram in October 2022. In February 2026, Calinisan confirmed that they were planning to get married in December.
