Song Joong-ki and Katy Louise Saunders make first official public appearance together
After keeping much of their relationship away from the spotlight, Song Joong-ki and his wife Katy Louise Saunders have finally made their first public outing together.
The couple appeared on April 18 at the seventh regular concert of Gaon Soloists titled “Children’s Scenery,” held at the IBK Chamber Hall of the Seoul Arts Center. The event, staged in celebration of the 46th Day of Persons with Disabilities, featured an integrated ensemble of musicians with and without disabilities.
At the event, Song and Saunders served as narrators, and they were seated side-by-side on stage. Saunders delivered lines in English, followed by Song’s Korean translation, as part of “Introduction and Royal March of the Lion” from The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns.
Musical actress Kim So-hyun, who also took part in the concert, shared behind-the-scenes snapshots with the couple, describing Saunders as “kind and beautiful” and expressing delight at reconnecting with Song.
In a statement, Gaon Soloists thanked the pair for helping shape what they described as a “radiant and unforgettable stage,” alongside other performers including violist Shin Yoon Hwang.
The appearance marks the couple’s first official joint public outing since they confirmed their relationship and marriage in 2023. While they have occasionally been spotted together in more casual settings such as airports and sporting events, this is the first time they have shared a stage in an organized public event.
Song and Saunders first met in 2021 and kept their relationship away from the public eye. The actor confirmed their marriage in early 2023. They welcomed a son in June 2023 in Rome and a daughter in November 2024.
