Jodi Sta. Maria reveals she and Joshua Garcia went on a 'sensuality workshop' for 'Unbreak My Heart'

A delighted Jodi Sta. Maria confessed that she did not expect her kissing scene with he Unbreak My Heart co-star Joshua Garcia to go viral.

Jodi revealed this during Chowking's media launch event attended by PhilSTAR L!fe, where she was introduced as the Chinese fast food chain's newest celebrity ambassador along with her 17-year-old son Thirdy Lacson.

In late March, GMA and ABS-CBN released the teaser for their upcoming romantic drama series Unbreak My Heart, which marks as the two network's first collaboration together. The internet went crazy after a teaser video showed Joshua passionately kissing Jodi.

In an interview with reporters, the 39-year-old actress surmised that the reason why the clip where she was locking lips with her 25-year-old co-star became a talk of the town was because of their relatively wide age gap.

"Nagulat 'yung mga tao na ganun 'yung nakita, na parang unexpected na gagawin namin pareho kasi syempre parang 20 years ang age gap namin ni Joshua, so nasurprise talaga sila," she said.

But their steamy scenes together weren't done all willy-nilly as they had to go through a so-called "sensual workshop" to ensure that their performance during these parts landed well.

When asked about what the importance of having this kind of workshop, Jodi said, "You discuss boundaries when you do sensuality workshops, kung ano 'yung pwede, kung hanggang saan ka kumportable."

She went on, "At syempre, hindi kayo lalagpas doon sa pinag-usapan. Kasi when you do scenes like that, kailangan talaga yung trust na mayroon kayo sa isa't isa. Ang hirap gumawa ng isang eksena na ganun kasensitibo kung hindi mo pinagkakatiwalaan 'yung scene partner mo."
