Catriona Gray, Michelle Dee, Celeste Cortesi reveal they had liposuction
Catriona Gray, Michelle Dee, and Celeste Cortesi shared that they underwent liposuction and opened up about their reasons for it.
The beauty queens were seen making the revelation in a video shared by celebrity doctor Vicki Belo on Instagram on Friday, Jan. 31.
For Gray, liposuction, which she got at the back of her arms, helped her reach her goal of tightening and toning her body.
"It was really nice to be educated, to be guided through what I could expect," she recalled. "You can just see that that's just a little thing that I did and I'm able to carry myself in a certain way because I feel that, and that translates to confidence for me."
Cortesi gave the cosmetic procedure a try just around two weeks ahead of the Miss Universe 2022 finals night held in January 2023.
"Well, actually, so it was during Miss Universe before I left for the US," she said, adding that Belo suggested that she should get it for her arms "because that's where I really deposit all my fats." She added, "It was on the back of my arms."
Cortesi did the procedure while she was awake, and was able to heal in only three days.
Dee, meanwhile, shared that she first tried to lose weight before she realized she needed to get liposuction on her "stubborn areas."
"Especially after I won Miss Universe Philippines, grabe, my waistline was at maybe 27. Yes, I did get lipo in my back, specifically around my waist and yeah, just a very small portion of small areas," she revealed.
"But the thing is, as you grow, I'm sure a lot of us will realize that we have stubborn areas. I didn't just go to doc and say I want the perfect body right away. Of course, I tried my best to lose weight and then it became really stubborn, and you just need that extra love," she continued.
Liposuction is a type of surgery that makes use of suction to take out unwanted fat from certain areas of the body.
Gray won the highly coveted Miss Universe title in 2018.
Cortesi represented the country at the Miss Universe 2022, where she ended up unplaced.
Dee, meanwhile, competed at the Miss Universe 2023 tilt, where she finished in the Top 10.
