Kristel Fulgar opened up about choosing to delay sex until marriage as well as knowing that her first and last boyfriend was "The One" for her when he decided to convert to her religion.

In an interview on Toni Gonzaga’s ToniTalks, the former child actress mused about being sure that she wants to spend the rest of her life with Ha Su Hyuk.

"Nung naging willing siya to convert to my religion," she said, referring to Iglesia ni Cristo. "Medyo naging mahaba rin po 'yung process. Hindi ko siya sinagot—11 months yata inabot."

Kristel did not say “yes” to her now-husband until he officially joined INC, though she noted how he was already regularly attending bible studies during their courting stage, even if she wasn't in Korea.

And ako, naniniwala rin ako na gift sya ni God sa akin,” she said, adding that Su Hyuk already expressed his intention of marrying her even in the early stages of their relationship.

Kristel, who previously shared that their first kiss was during their engagement, added that she opted to remain a virgin until marriage.

She also shared that the dating culture in Korea is fast-paced and direct. “Iba kasi ‘yung nakikita mo sa Korean drama sa totoong buhay. Ang dating culture nila, mabilisan, parang ‘I like you, you like me, tayo na,’ ganun. Wala silang ligaw,” she said.

Su Hyuk, however, approached things differently.

And sobrang na-appreciate niya ‘yung mga values na meron ako,” she added. “Sobrang patient siya—willing to wait talaga.”

When asked about her greatest lesson in love so far, she said, “May right timing po talaga.”

Kristel and Su-hyuk tied the knot at the Luna Miele Events Place in Seoul, South Korea last May 10. In her previous vlog, she shared that she will now settle in Korea, and will visit the Philippines from time to time.
