Kristel Fulgar and Ha Su-hyuk waited for engagement to share first kiss
Kristel Fulgar, who married Ha Su-hyuk last May 10, previously revealed that they shared their first kiss during their engagement.
"Kinabahan kasi first kiss ko... Rineserve namin 'yung first kiss sa engagement," she shared with PUSH Bets.
The former Bagito star also said that she knew early on that Su-hyuk wanted to marry her.
"Alam ko na. As in kailangan lang talaga dumaan ka sa tamang proseso," she said. "Kaya isa rin sa reasons ko kung bakit ako nag decide na pakasalan siya kasi grabe din naman talaga yung respect niya sa boundaries ko and yung respect niya sa akin mismo. Ang hirap makahanap ng ganung klaseng guy sa panahaon ngayon."
Fulgar admitted to testing Su-hyuk's patience to see if he was truly willing to wait for her.
"Tinetest ko rin siya kasi gusto kong malaman kung talagang marunong siyang maghintay, gaano kahaba yung pasensya niya, parang kaya ba niyang pagdaanan itong challenge na ‘to. So lahat naman napatunayan niya sakin," she revealed.
She also pointed out the difference between the Korean dating culture, which she described as fast-paced and very "modern," with her own traditional and conservative Filipino values, emphasizing how Su-hyuk's patience stood out.
"Sabi nga ng iba sa akin may pagkamanang pero 'yun ako eh, I don't mind those comments," she said.
Recalling the first time they met after being introduced by a common friend, Fulgar said, "Nung nagkita kami, first time kong nakaramdam ng safety sa isang lalaki na kakakilala ko lang. Kasi medyo may wall ako sa mga guys lalo na pag bago kong kakilala, pero sa kanya, parang ang gaan gaan talaga ng loob ko. Naramdaman ko siguro kaagad din yung respect niya sakin. First time sa isang guy."
The actress and businesswoman further stated that her husband had been ready to commit to her since their early courtship days.
"Nanliligaw palang siya, talagang naka commit na siya sa akin. Alam kasi niyang date to marry ako. So, kailangan kong makita sa kanya yung pagiging husband material sa umpisa pa lang," Fulgar said, revealing that Su-hyuk would sometimes come to the Philippines on weekends.
"Pag dadating siya, Saturday ng madaling araw tapos uuwi siya ng Sunday ng gabi."
Fulgar and Su-hyuk tied the knot at the Luna Miele events place in Seoul, South Korea last May 10.
She first announced that she was in a relationship with Su Hyuk in November last year. She shared their engagement in February through a vlog on her YouTube channel.
"I always knew that my baba will be the last woman I would love. If it weren't because of you, I wouldn't know how I would live," Su-hyuk said in Korean when he popped the question.
"You will be my last love, and I'm very sure that you will be the only one I want to love forever. Also, I want to have a happy family with you," he continued.
