Melai Cantiveros is about to take her love for Korea to a new level as she has now been named the latest honorary ambassador for the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO).

The Kapamilya actress shared the good news on her Instagram account by posting a picture of herself holding the plaque together with her husband Jason Francisco, their daughters Mela and Stela, and her mother Virgie.

She also included a video of her receiving the plaque during the ceremonial appointment.

The comedian has always been vocal about her love for the country. Back in July 2023, Melai filled her Instagram with snaps of her trip to South Korea with her family, and one picture showed them wearing hanbok, the traditional clothing in South Korea.

In addition to being an avid K-drama fan, Melai also made her presence known during the 8th Asia Artist Awards, which honors the outstanding achievements and international contributions of South Korean artists in Asian television, film and music.

There, she received the award for Best Actor for her 2023 action-comedy film Ma'am Chief: Shakedown in Seoul. Melai stars as a policewoman who is on a secret mission to South Korea, disguising herself as a tour guide to apprehend a fugitive.
