Angelica Panganiban and Gregg Homan open up about their love story for the very first time
Angelica Panganiban and Gregg Homan got candid about their romance to the public for the very first time, revealing that they started talking about having kids early on in their relationship.
While most couples think pregnancy is a big step that should come at a later time, it was different for the soon-to-be parents as they both genuinely wanted it—even much more than marriage.
In a YouTube vlog posted on Monday, May 23, the loved-up pair shared they met in 2020 while Angelica was working on a teleserye in Subic, where Gregg resides. Cherry Pie Picache, their common friend, was the one who kept pushing them to go on a date. “Nangungulit siya na ‘Sige na, sige na. Game na. Mag-meet na kayong dalawa,’” the actress recalled.
Since Angelica was happy and content with her single life at the time, she was quite hesitant to go for it. “Then para lang matahimik na si Miss Pie, pumayag na ako na makipagmeet sa kanya. Dun nag-start ‘yun. Nag-meet kami sa lighthouse dito sa Subic.”
On their first date, Angelica casually mentioned that she was having a hard time getting decent food in the area—an incident that Gregg viewed as an opportunity to get to know her better. “That was my in, asking her what type of food she likes,” recalled Gregg, who later on decided to send some munchies to the hotel for the whole crew. “I knew at one point she would have to thank me and I would get her number.”
It didn’t take long for their sweet nothings to turn into romantic dates at the beach, which involves Gregg’s work as a businessman. “Tumagal-tagal, napapansin ko na nae-enjoy ko na kaming dalawa lang nag-uusap,” she said.
When it was time for Angelica to go back to the metro after taping, Gregg followed and visited her in her home. “That’s where we actually really started liking each other—when we were away from everybody,” he said.
During their get-to-know stage, Gregg saw “how easy it was” to be with Angelica. “I remember a conversation we had that we said to each other na even if we couldn’t be in a relationship together, we wanted to be friends because we have so much in common and we did like our conversations.”
Angelica, for her part, came to the realization that she could no longer picture life without Gregg—whether it’s for a romantic relationship or simply a platonic one. “Ayoko siyang mawala kasi parang sobrang okay niyang tao. Mahu-hurt ako kahit bilang as a friend, ma-miss ko yung opportunity na ma-gain ko siya sa life ko.”
When did they know their romance is well worth it? “When I said ‘I love you’ for the first time,” Gregg said, referring to it as the moment he knew exactly what he wanted in life. “I was single for a long time and I didn’t want to be in a relationship, but then I knew then that I want to be with you.”
Angelica said it back in the same year, on the road back to the city. “Sobrang happy natin nun, pinag-uusapan natin na kapag going strong ang relationship natin, try natin magkaroon ng baby,” she shared.
As early as their first Christmas together, they got serious about starting a family. “Feel ko, dun ko naramdamang worth it lahat kasi wala akong naramdamang takot noong pinag-uusapan natin about building a family together. Parehas namin siyang gusto,” the local star said.
Angelica announced her pregnancy with a series of sonogram shots in March—a year after confirming her relationship with Gregg back in Jan. 2021.
The mom-to-be said she’s about to play her most important role in life yet and expressed her gratitude to everyone who continues to support and celebrate with them. “May pamilya na ko. Kaiyaq pramis,” she said.
