When it comes to getting past a long-term relationship, Kylie Padilla said it's all about taking your time to heal.

In an interview recently uploaded on YouTube by Cosmopolitan Philippines, the actress took the time to answer some questions about love and life, which included moving on from a breakup.

When asked how she was able to pick herself up after ending a years-long romance, she said, "Hindi mo puwedeng madaliin talaga."

"Minsan kasi, feel ko sa generation natin 'di ba, everything's on social media so parang feeling natin we have to present 'okay ako' kaagad, or 'di ka mukhang loser. But I think that sobrang importante ng grieving. Kailangan mo siyang maramdaman talaga. Kailangan mong iiyak, ganyan, " Kylie continued, adding that doing so could help you discover new things about yourself along the way.

The local star also suggested pursuing long-term goals while "processing the pain."

"Give yourself time. It takes time to truly heal. Kasi may healing na panlabas lang—like magpapagupit ka, papaganda ka, papapayat ka—but still, inside, hindi mo siya talaga prinocess. You need to process the pain."

Kylie then emphasized, "Nabuhay naman ako ng 10 years, 15 years ng wala siya sa buhay ko. Kailangan ko lang balikan 'yun, because I can still do it. Nabuhay naman ako ng wala siya, so I can do it again."

Just last month, Kylie opened up about "being so afraid of life" after her breakup with Aljur Abrenica, with whom she started dating in 2011 and tied the knot in 2018. They announced their separation in 2021.

Through her Instagram broadcast channel, the actress shared, "Ever since my separation with my ex, I have been so afraid of life. Afraid of relaxing and letting go of my grip on control." She said her fears stemmed from being a single parent to their kids Alas Joaquin and Axl Romeo.

"I didn't know how much single parenthood scared me. Having two young kids rely on you while you are falling apart is so much pressure pala. I was bursting at the seams, but looking back I'm so proud of how far I've come," she wrote.

Kylie is rumored to be in a relationship with celebrity fitness coach Francis Simon, while Aljur is now with actress AJ Raval.
