Heart Evangelista gives her glam team Hermès bags: 'Gusto ko lahat kami mayroon'
Heart Evangelista expressed her appreciation to her glam team by gifting them Hermès bags she handpicked herself.
On the Jan. 4 episode of her TV series, Heart World, the socialite's team unboxed a special surprise.
The luxury gifts were concealed in a large styrofoam box with newspapers complete with tilapia and mackerel scad. The boxes were also addressed individually to her team members—Ira Lesaca, Ghil Sayo, Memay Francisco, and Iza Sim—along with an itemized description for each.
According to the fashion style icon, the gifts were originally meant to be given for Christmas, but she chose to surprise them instead in November ahead of their trip to Indonesia.
Heart said that she handpicked the bags according to her team’s personalities.
“Hindi ko mapigilan kasi ang tagal kong sinource out; Hindi lang ako basta basta bibili, kailangan according to their personality na sulit na mapunta sa kanila,” she said, adding that she’s thankful for her friends who are sellers of luxury items for giving her a good discount.
"I always want kung anong mayroon ako, gusto ko lahat kami mayroon. Lahat naman tayo nagwo-work hard," Heart said.
Some of the luxury bags that were given include a vintage Hermès Kelly Retourne 32 Black Box Gold Hardware and Hermès Birkin 35 Rough H GHW in wine.
In the video, her team was seen getting emotional after seeing the bags, expressing how they couldn’t be more grateful to Heart for such a gift.
"She's such a giver, [makikita] mo ‘yung dopamine niya thru giving gifts and parang making people happy,” May said.
"I know every single pagod, puyat, trabaho na ginawa natin wasn't just work for you, and it's not because you would say that pero nararamdaman ko na ginagawa niyo hindi lang dahil trabaho siya, [kundi] dahil mahal natin ang isa't-isa. So deserve," Heart added.
“I hope na mas maging blessed pa tayo, not just for ourselves, but to be more of a blessing to others na kung maluwag-luwag ang mga bagay-bagay, then we can also share that to other people," she added.
Heart stressed that what makes a gift special isn't its price tag, but the story behind it.
"Ako, sa totoo lang ako, sobrang babaw ko lang. Bigyan mo lang ako ng socks na may picture ni Panda, masaya na ako. So truly, it's about the story behind it, and it's about the heart that you give with the present na binigay mo sa mga mahal mo sa buhay," she said.
