Billy Crawford gets emotional after receiving standing ovation in France’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’
Billy Crawford could not help but be overwhelmed with emotion after his first performance in the pilot episode of Danse avec les stars, the French version of the dance competition Dancing with the Stars, where he received a standing ovation from the judges.
His wife, actress Coleen Garcia posted a video of the remarkable moment on Instagram on Saturday, Sept. 10, showing Billy and his dance partner Fauve Hautot receiving four buzzes from the judges after the duo's dance performance of Harry Styles’ Watermelon Sugar. It made them advance to the next round.
As soon as the results came, the room was flooded with cheers. Billy could only cover his mouth and sit on the stage as he let it all sink in. The four judges, meanwhile, stood up and gave them a round of applause.
"SO PROUD!!!! Congratulations Billy and Fauve Hautot! You guys were amazing!" Coleen captioned her post, to which Billy replied, "Awwwww thanks, my love!"
Billy first announced in July that he will be a part of the dance competition's 12th season, which premiered its first episode on Sept. 9. While he said that he was brimming with excitement, he also could not help but be nervous.
"It’s truly a blessing but no lie I’m super nervous! Thank you to the French public whom I love a lot!" he wrote in French.
Many of Billy's fans and fellow celebrities took the time to congratulate him on his achievement and wished more success for him on his journey.
"Sooo proud of you my inaanak!" Kim Atienza commented on the video.
OPM icon Gary Valenciano wrote, "Go Billy go! Keep shining!"
Based on the UK series Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing with the Stars first premiered in 2005 and has since gotten versions produced in various countries across the globe. The show pairs famous celebrities with professional dancers who must showcase impressive dance moves to advance to the competition.
