Gigi De Lana recounts car accident, collapsing on stage during performance in Ilocos Norte event
Gigi De Lana has revealed that their Ilocos Norte show was supposed to be her last before taking a two-month break due to her medical condition.
Currently on recovery from minor injuries, Gigi detailed her experiences during the car accident on the way to their show in Ilocos Norte.
According to the singer, they initially planned to travel at 6 a.m. but decided instead to leave immediately after their show in Baler.
Habang kausap nila si Josh, kumakanta pa, parang a few seconds later parang nakaidlip,” she shared during her interview with Julius Babao and Christine Bersola.
As seen in their shared photos, the front side of their van was completely whacked up, and the airbags were inflated.
For her part, Gigi shared that she was sleeping in a lying position, unable to wear a seat belt, which prompted her to be thrown off into the driver’s seat.
“Nakahiga po kasi ako nung nangyari ‘yung accident, so tumilapon po ako doon sa driver’s seat,” she recounted.
After the accident, they immediately took medical tests to check for any major injuries. Fortunately, none of them sustained severe injuries, allowing them to secure a medical clearance from the local government of Ilocos Norte, saying that they are “good to perform.”
As seen in the reports at that time, Gigi and The Gigi Vibes weren’t able to finish their set after she fainted in the middle of their performance.
She then went on to detail the accident, “After ng accident, hindi mo naman po mararamdaman agad lahat e,” she said.
Prior to this, Gigi previously announced in April that she will be taking a two-month break from performing after being diagnosed with nodules in her throat. Their show in Ilocos Norte was supposed to be her last before taking a break.
Now that she's off to her hiatus, Gigi expressed her thanks to her fans who were concerned about her health, especially after the accident.
Magpapagaling ako and babalik ako nang mas malakas at mas healthy.”
