Miss Universe PH Bea Gomez breaks silence about split with ex-GF Kate Jagdon: 'I loved her until the last day I was with her'
Days after posting a photo of her Valentine's Day with a mystery man, Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez took to social media to open up about her breakup with ex-girlfriend Kate Jagdon.
The beauty queen prefaced her lengthy message by expressing how she's been affected by rumors swirling about their split as well as by messages from Jagdon's followers, friends, and family wishing she'd lose the international pageant.
"I can only endure so much for too long. It is hard to advocate for mental health when I myself struggled through pressure, anxiety, and even depression," Gomez wrote on Feb. 16.
The beauty queen said the rumors and "harassment" towards her on social media are affecting her advocacies like with the LGBTQ+ community.
"The very people who I've been rallying for way before Bb. Cebu and MUPH tried to cancel me and told me that I only used being an LGBT member for the clout," she said.
"Clout chasing is staying in a toxic relationship just to keep you people entertained," the beauty queen retorted.
Gomez and Jagdon were together for almost seven years and broke up in November 2021—weeks before the Miss Universe competition in Eliat, Israel. She finished in the pageant's top 5 with India's Harnaaz Sandhu winning the coveted crown.
"When I was on my way to the MUPH competition, after a series of confrontations I learned that she had already been entertaining a person named 'Adam' for over a year during our relationship," she shared. "She's made out with someone, made a move on other girls, and have been going out more often than usual that there were even times she wouldn't come home for days."
The Cebuana said people have warned her about this but she still defended her former partner. She added that when she was in Manila, they would still video call, but they found difficulty with the long distance setup.
Jagdon was the first to post about their split in November but kept details about it private.
"All along she had been the victim of this breakup because she chose to. She didn't have to explain herself because I was already being antagonized and everyone's sympathy was with her," Gomez said.
The beauty queen ended her lengthy message wishing the best for the two of them. "I don't regret anything in the six years that we've been together. I loved her until the last day I was with her."
