From exes to lifetime partners: Maja Salvador and Rambo Nuñez's relationship timeline

Published Jul 31, 2023 3:49 pm

Maja Salvador and Rambo Nuñez are living proof that love is sweeter the second time around.

The actress had a personal rule of never dating exes, but she decided to break it just for Rambo—and it turned out to be one of her best decisions yet.

Maja and Rambo dated each other in 2010 and broke up after a four-month romance. Who would have thought they would rekindle it after nine years and agree to spend the rest of their lives together? Here's a look back at their incredible love story.

2010: Brief romance
Maja posts a throwback photo of her and Rambo on the latter's birthday in 2020.

Did you know that the two briefly dated in their early 20s? Maja opened up about their short-lived romance in March 2019, as reported by entertainment portal PEP. She shared that they were together for about four months and decided to call it quits to prioritize their own careers.

"Yung reason naman namin kung bakit kami nagbreak noon, hindi matindi. Hindi tulad ng iba na matindi. 'Yung reason namin, bata lang kasi ako nun," she told the press.

2018: Coincidental meetup

Almost a decade after, Maja and Rambo crossed paths again in 2018—not just once, but twice.

In an interview with Metro.Style, Maja recalled that she randomly saw Rambo at the airport, but clarified she didn't feel any butterflies at that time. They were both going to Japan then—Maja was heading to Nagoya, while Rambo had a scheduled trip to Tokyo.

Not too long after, they saw each other again at the gym. That was when Rambo finally made a move and asked the actress if she had the same number. “Pagka-uwi ko, nag-message siya. Isang buong gabi kaming magka-text, but siguro, nafeel niya na hindi okay 'yung reply ko. He’s my ex. May rule ako na walang balikan because once I’m done, I’m done," she said.

February 2019: Valentine's Day together

Maja and Rambo sparked dating rumors again in 2019 after being spotted holding hands at a product launch. Before the event, Maja posted a snap of a bouquet of roses from an undisclosed sender on Valentine’s Day, which she captioned with a rose emoji.

"Thanks for being my Valentine again after 9 years,” the letter read.

March 2019: Instagram official
Maja and Rambo confirmed their rekindled romance with a loved-up photo in 2019.

The two confirmed dating speculations by going "official" on Instagram with a lovey-dovey picture taken during their friend's wedding.

"My lovely date for Migs and Patty’s wedding," Rambo wrote in his post.

Maja, for her part, shared a sweet snap of them with pink heart emojis in the caption.

July 2019: ‘Salamat bumalik ka’

Maja penned a sweet message for Rambo as he turned a year older in July 2019. “Darating 'yung panahon na matanda at bungi bungi na tayo. 'Pag dumating na 'yun, ipapagdadasal ko na ikaw pa rin ang nasa tabi ko. Maligayang kaarawan,” she wrote, sharing a wacky photo of them.

“Masaya ako. Masaya ang puso ko.. salamat bumalik ka, gawin natin ang lahat lahat para hindi na tayo mawalay sa isa’t isa. Mahal na mahal kita,” she added.

December 2019: ‘Best plot twist'

Concluding their special year, Maja posted a candid photo of her with Rambo. "’The world is kind—and so is time,’” she wrote the quote in the caption.

"Thank you, 2019, for bringing him back to my life," she posted, adding the hashtag #TheBestPlotTwistThis2019.

Since then, the two have been sharing snaps from their adventures as a couple. "It's my first time na 1,000% na walang pagdadalawang-isip if I'll share it or not. 'Yung moment na feel ko na gusto ko i-share, shinare ko. Hindi ko pinigilan ang sarili ko,” she said in a previous interview with PEP.
