Amy Schumer answered those who are criticizing her appearance as she explained why her face now looks “puffier than normal.”

In an Instagram post, the singer addressed social media users who are bashing her current look following her recent guesting on talk shows The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The View.

"Thank you so much for everyone's input about my face!" she began, adding that she has “enjoyed feedback and deliberation about [her] appearance as all women do for almost 20 years.”

“You're right, it is puffier than normal right now,” she said.

Schumer opened up about being diagnosed with endometriosis—a "disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus," according to the World Health Organization. Its common symptoms include painful periods, fatigue, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, and bloating.

“There are some medical and hormonal things going on in my world right now but I'm okay," the actress said.

Schumer stressed that she believes a woman “doesn't need any excuse for her physical appearance and owes no explanation.” She, however, “wanted to take the opportunity to advocate for self love and acceptance of the skin you're in."

“Like every other woman/person, some days I feel confident and good as hell and others, I want to put a bag over my head,” she shared.

At the moment, Schumer said she feels “strong and beautiful and so proud” of the new Hulu show Life & Beth, which she created, wrote, starred in, and directed. “Maybe just maybe we can focus on that for a little,” she continued.

Schumer has been known to celebrate her body and embracing her curves. In January, she shared a topless photo of herself in her Instagram stories with the caption: “Still got it (40 extra lbs).”
