Barry Keoghan undergoes cosmetic procedure after criticisms on his appearance
Barry Keoghan revealed that he has undergone a pricey cosmetic procedure for his skin, months after he opened up about the online attacks on his appearance that he has been experiencing.
In an Instagram video posted by Dermaspa owner Nilam Holmes, the actor has received two rounds of XERF treatment to tighten the skin and renew collagen.
According to Dermaspa’s website, this is a non-invasive skin-tightening treatment that uses monopolar radiofrequency technology to lift, firm, and reshape the jawline and lower face.
The procedure costs $3,300 (P211,206) per visit.
"I’ve been working with Barry for a while now, looking after his skin through different movies, campaigns and projects, and the trust he places in me means a lot," Holmes wrote in the caption of the video.
"His skin has really improved over the last few years, and he looks great," she added.

Meanwhile, Keoghan highlighted how the treatment has been helping him feel more confident about his appearance.
"I’ve been hearing a lot about it, and Nilam is very excited about it, and she’s great at what she does. I really mean that, and again, every time I come in, it’s very relaxing and therapeutic. I feel better about myself; I look better. I think it’s important to look after yourself inside and outside," he said in the clip.
Back in March, Keoghan discussed how the negativity he experienced about his looks has begun to affect his lifestyle.
"There’s a lot of hate online. There’s a lot of abuse of how I look, and it’s kind of past the point of—you know, everyone goes through that… but it’s made me shy away. It’s made me really go inside myself, not want to attend places, not want to go outside," he explained.
While he tried to protect his mental health by staying off social media, he explained that he still can't help but want to go on the internet to see reactions whenever he attends an event. However, he lamented that most of the comments are "not nice."
When asked about finding time and space to enjoy his privacy, the actor said, "I don't have to hide away 'cause I am hiding away… I actually don't go to places because of these things."
Apart from his performance in the 2023 psychological drama film Saltburn, Keoghan is also known for starring in Eternals, The Banshees of Inisherin, and The Immortal Man.
He previously dated singer Sabrina Carpenter, but the two have since split in 2024. Following the breakup, however, Keoghan claimed to be receiving threats from Carpenter's fans, including threats directed at himself, his grandmother, and his young son.
