The queer couple behind Robredo's 'Kay Leni Tayo' song is tying the knot in Australia
A year after the release of campaign tune "Kay Leni Tayo," the couple behind the song, Nica Del Rosario and Justine Peña are set to say their "I do's" in Sydney, Australia.
"Off to get 💍," Del Rosario, one of the writers of Sarah Geronimo's hit song Tala, tweeted on Aug. 18, sharing a photo aboard an airplane. She later posted a picture with Peña in Sydney when they arrived.

The couple was active during the elections campaign, performing at former Vice President Robredo's rallies and writing songs for the former presidential candidate.
They worked on Kay Leni Tayo along with fellow artist Jeli Matero, while Del Rosario made another song for the ex-VP titled Rosas, which recently hit 10 million listens on Spotify.
Peña, on the other hand, has starred in films and TV series like Abomination, ANi, and Gaya Sa Pelikula. Her bride's song Tahanan was actually part of the series' soundtrack, and Del Rosario actually wrote it with the actress in mind.
The little details
The couple keeps details of their relationship lowkey, but they often tweet each other.

In the Philippines, same-sex marriages are still not recognized before the law, but there have been bills pushing for the legalization of same-sex civil unions. Most recently, Sen. Robinhood Padilla filed Senate Bill 449, seeking to institutionalize LGBTQ+ unions.
