Heart Evangelista takes oath as new Senate Spouses Foundation President. Here are the other officers
Heart Evangelista has officially been established as the new president of the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc. (SSFI).
On her Instagram page, the actress shared a glimpse of her oath-taking that was witnessed by the previous set of officers of the organization. She said that she is "honored" to take on the chief position.
"As I stand side by side with these men and women—my fellow spouses and officials who were involved in SSFI long before me, I could not help but be grateful for welcoming and supporting me in this challenging journey ahead," wrote Heart, who is the wife of current Senate President Chiz Escudero.
"As I have said during our very first meeting, l am ready to honor the challenge of working together to find ways to uplift our people and our communities," she added.
Heart said that she is inspired by the "treasure of stories and testaments of service to the nation" by the ladies before her to continue when they have started.
She is also motivated to "make a difference and to inspire not only SSFl members, but also individuals and groups who have the power to do something in improving the lives of people around us."
"With your support, fellow spouses, SSFI support staff, the Senate community and of course of Senate President Chiz, I am bravely taking on these duties. It is inspiring to see what we can accomplish and what kind of changes we can all make together. Maraming salamat po!" Heart ended.
Joining her in her leadership role are Sen. Koko Pimentel's wife Kathryna Yu-Pimentel as Vice President; Raffy Tulfo's daughter Maricel Tulfo as Secretary, Grace Poe's husband Neil Llamanzares as Assistant Secretary, Sen. Bong Revilla's wife Lani Revilla as Treasurer; Sen. Mark Villar's wife Emmeline Villar as Legal Counsel; and Sen. Robin Padilla's wife Marielle Padilla and Ronald dela Rosa's Wife Nancy dela Rosa as Public Relations Officers.
The committee chairpersons of SSFI are:

- Committee on Arts & Culture: Lani Cayetano
- Committee on Social Events: Kathryna Pimentel
- Committee on Environment: Emmeline Villar

- Committee on Youth & Women: Issa Baraquel
Heart assumed the position after her Chiz was appointed as the new Senate President. She replaced Audrey Tan Zubiri, the outgoing president of the group and Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri's spouse.
As per tradition, local senators' spouses join an organization to conduct projects and charities for the communities.
