For Rita Daniela, getting justice in the lasciviousness complaint she filed against Archie Alemania is not just a personal victory but also a win for everyone who endured abuse and couldn't fight for their rights.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Oct. 26, the singer-actress thanked God for the development in the case.

"Thank you God for everything," she began. "Thank you God for blessing me with people who have great hearts who have been helping me and still believing in me no matter what."

"The justice I received today is not just for me," she mused. "This is also for all the women and men who were abused, harassed, and molested that didn't have the voice and platform to fight for their own rights."

"So, I am celebrating this justice with you," Daniela continued. "Today, we all won. We won."

Alemania was found guilty in the case last week, Daniela's legal counsel, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque shared with PhilSTAR L!fe on Friday, Oct. 24.

He was sentenced to up to one year in prison. He's also ordered to pay P20,000 in civil indemnity and another P20,000 in moral damages.

In her complaint filed in October 2024, Daniela recalled Alemania making a vulgar statement toward her when they attended a Thanksgiving party together on Sept. 9 of that year.

When the party ended, Alemania allegedly offered Daniela a ride home, which she accepted, thinking it was something an older brother would do.

But during the ride, Daniela recalled Alemania beginning to caress her shoulder and neck, which she found "uncomfortable."

"I was confused [whether] he was just comforting me as an elder brother since I told him about what happened to my mother in our conversation inside his vehicle," she said in her complaint.

Upon reaching the front of her house, Daniela said Alemania "forcibly got hold of my head and locked it with his grip and gave me a torrid kiss on the lips with his tongue out trying to put it inside my mouth."

After pushing him away and opening the car door, Daniela recalled Alemania pulling her back to hug her tightly from behind. He then allegedly groped her breast and "smashed it lasciviously."

Later on, Alemania supposedly texted Daniela to apologize, citing he was drunk.

In December 2024, Alemania submitted a counter-affidavit on the complaint. He also pleaded not guilty to the charge in April this year.

Daniela and Alemania were co-stars in the teleserye Widows' War.

PhilSTAR L!fe has reached out to Alemania and his camp for a comment on the update on the case, but has yet to receive a reply.
