Priscilla Meirelles says there was 'never any mutual agreement' on 'separation' from John Estrada
Priscilla Meirelles denied John Estrada's claim that they "mutually agreed" to "take a break for quite some time now," saying she was "deeply shocked and disheartened" by her husband's statement on their marital issue.
"I am deeply shocked and disheartened by Mr. Estrada's recent public statement," the former beauty queen wrote in an Instagram story on Wednesday, July 17.
"To clarify, there was never any mutual agreement regarding our separation," she stressed. "We were married when I left the Philippines, and we remain married as of this time."
Meirelles said it's true that there's "more to this story," but it's "not the appropriate time" to get into detail about what really happened. "Regardless of what those may be, however, it won't change the course of faith," she continued.
She went on to express her appreciation for the public's "constant support, kindness, and love during this difficult time."
"I trust that, in due course, all will be resolved appropriately. Thank you for your understanding," she concluded.
Her statement came after her husband broke his silence on their marital problems and claimed they "mutually agreed" to "take a break for quite some time now."
"There's more to the story but the last thing I want to do is to hurt the people I love," he noted in an Instagram story on Tuesday, July 16.
The Batang Quiapo star emphasized that he is not in a relationship at the moment, saying the woman that Meirelles name-dropped as his alleged companion in Boracay is someone he "just met" there.
"I want to make it clear that I am not in a relationship with Lily Hallman or any other woman for that matter. I just met her in Boracay. I had a short break from work and felt the need for a breather," he clarified. "This is a private family matter that's why I ask for privacy as we deal with this. Thank you!"
In 2023, Meirelles first bared that her relationship with Estrada was on the rocks amid his alleged cheating.
She wrote a post asking her followers, "What to call a female that entertains married man?" and "Married men/women who chase single boys/girls are seriously so pathetic!"
In the same year, Estrada refused to answer questions about her reported marriage issues, saying that though he's a public figure, it doesn't mean being open about his personal life.
Estrada and Meirelles got married at a beach wedding in La Union in 2011.
