#FangirlGigs: GOT7 Yugyeom’s Manila show was not just a concert—it was a party from start to finish

Kim Yugyeom—also known as GOT7’s Yugyeom—did not just perform for Pinoy Ahgases at the New Frontier Theater. He turned his much-awaited Manila concert into a flashy party where everyone danced all night.

It’s common knowledge among K-pop fans that Yugyeom’s music is hip, young, and created for those who want to have fun. However, his return to the PH proved that he’s the type of artist who makes sure that his audience is satisfied until the final performance.

As soon as the lights dimmed in the theater, fans raised their Ahgabongs (or GOT7-themed lightsticks) in excitement as DJ Wegun turned the stage on fire. Blasting GOT7’s hit songs and familiar bangers like Lee Hi’s Red Lipstick, the musical artist set the tone for the night.

But nothing compares to the fangirl-like adrenaline rush as soon as Yugyeom stepped onstage.

Dressed in a flashy black hoodie and black joggers, fangirls screamed their hearts as Yugyeom kicked off the night with a captivating performance of I Want U Around

The GOT7 member was fiery and passionate all throughout as he delivered heart-stopping performances of fan-favorite Running Through The Rain, When You Fall, Falling In Love, All About You, Take You Down, Lights, All Your Fault, and Mommae, among others.

Yugyeom’s Kyum crew also brought out their charisma as they danced to their hearts’ content all throughout the two-hour show.

The K-pop star even shocked fans and the media as he suddenly jumped down from the stage to perform.

Perhaps, one of the most heartwarming moments of the concert was Yugyeom speaking English to Ahgases. He could have asked the help of a trusty translator—since fans won’t mind—but he made an effort to pour his heart and soul into the show.

“Wow, I love you guys. I love you guys so much, this is crazy… I will be back for you and I will always think about you. I’ll be rooting for you just like what you’ve always done for me,” Yugyeom said as the concert said during his final ment. To recall, ment is described as the break between K--pop stars where an idol speaks to fans.

The K-pop superstar has always been an eye-catching performer since his debut but seeing him in person was priceless. In a charming group like GOT7—not to mention being bandmates with Jay B, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, and BamBam—it’s hard to mark your own territory as a soloist.

But Kim Yugyeom did, as expected of GOT7’s maknae, vocalist, and main dancer.
