Viva Artists Agency issues warning over deepfake video of Anne Curtis
Viva Artists Agency, the talent management company representing Anne Curtis, warned the public about a circulating deepfake video featuring the actress.
On Instagram, VAA expressed alarm over the unauthorized and manipulated use of the TV host's likeness on a Facebook page titled "Investment Illumination."
"Please be informed that Anne is not connected in any way to the said Facebook page. The video is a deepfake, a product of AI, and was made without the consent of Anne nor of Viva," it said.
The label will seek legal action against the person or group behind the video.
It also urged the public to stay vigilant and discern any form of online scams and illegal use of AI to mislead and spread fake information.
Curtis also reposted the statement on her X account.
With AI tools becoming more popular and accessible, celebrities and personalities are becoming victims of deepfakes.
Recently, Michael V also warned about a deepfake video that used his likeness. Some users had used AI to recreate his voice and animate mouth movements.
"Maging alisto. Huwag magpa-loko. Ang AI masyado nang tumatalino. Dapat matuto tayong maging mapanuri kung ang pinapanood o binabasa ay fake o totoo," he said.
In September 2024, Star Magic vowed to take legal action against those circulating malicious, edited deepfake photos and videos of BINI members on social media.
