Fresh from Disney's confirmation of Park Seo Joon's participation in The Marvels, reports have been making the rounds online about his role in the upcoming film. Mind you, it might be bigger than you were expecting.

According to entertainment scooper Daniel Richtman, the Korean heartthrob is set to play Prince Yan in the 2023 film. In a series of tweets in response to his followers' questions about Park's character, Richtman said that Yan is the "leader of a planet where everyone sing to each other instead of talking."

Based on the Marvel comics where the prince was introduced (Captain Marvel #9), the planet where he is based is called Aladna. Not only that, but Yan is also the husband of Brie Larson's Carol Danvers.

In case you're wondering if this means Captain Marvel and Prince Yan will see sparks fly between them, then it's best to wait for the film to premiere on July 28, 2023, or read the comic which you can purchase here.

Rumors of Park's participation in a Marvel film began circulating in June and were confirmed by his agency, Awesome ENT, on September 3. At that time, the film's title, filming schedules, and locations were still kept under wraps.

Disney finally introduced the Korean star as part of The Marvels' cast during the first day of the 2022 Disney Content Showcase 2022 last Nov. 30.

The Marvels, directed by Nia DaCosta, is a sequel to Captain Marvel, WandaVision, and Ms. Marvel. Apart from Park and Larson, the film will be starred by Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Furry, Teyonnah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Pakistani star Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan.
